TERRACE ROOM
Goldsboro, North Carolina

Our Past:
Hotel Goldsboro
Hotel Goldsboro was built in 1924 in the center of downtown Goldsboro by Architect
W.L. Stoddart who also designed the Sir Walter Hotel in Raleigh, NC. The terrace was
constructed in 1926 off of the hotel's dining room to provide a cooler place to enjoy the
days before air conditioning. It was used as an outdoor dining area for several years
before being enclosed. The hotel was a gathering place for many social functions in
town until it closed in the 1970s. The Weil Family reopened the Terrace Room as an event
venue and managed it through the end of 2024 when they passed management to a
local nonprofit, Literacy Connections of Wayne County.

Our Present:
Terrace Room at Waynesborough House
Terrace Room is currently an event rental space managed managed by
Literacy Connections of Wayne County, a local nonprofit organization as of January 2025.
They are in the process moving their offices and tutoring stations to the back portion of the Terrace Room. The main room and terrace space remain an event venue and are available for rentals for events of up to 100 people (capacity may be less based on your event details).
The former hotel space houses a private apartment building, Waynesborough House.
